Our group have designed a series of interactive learning activities like readings, quizzes, and  assignments. This blog will identify the potential barriers and introduce alternative plans for inclusive learning. Starting from reading activities. As course readings are the essential resource, we want to make sure all student can easily access the readings. All reading will be available online and free to access for registered students. Students are required to have access to internet. West Coast Teacher gives five solutions to student who are difficult accessing the internet. We all agree that learning material is the priority. For those who have trouble reading on screens we encourage them print paper copies. For English as second language learners who have trouble reading in English, we still encourage them to read as much as they can. Meanwhile there will be translated versions to assist them comprehending the materials. As some ideas are referring to Principle of Microeconomics by Mankiw, N. Gregory, having the book is recommended; however, not mandatory.

The course is primarily online, participation is another concern. As we will have students all around the world, requiring attendance for live streaming might be difficult. Therefore, we will provide lesson video recordings. Those who cannot participate live streaming are required to attend the tutorials. Students are required to complete watching the lesson recording upon the tutorial. During the tutorials, teacher assistants would help answer questions. We will also have teacher assistants available for group meetings. Students can invite TAs to their private meetings, or we can assign TAs to their meetings.

Quiz and assignment are great ways to assess if learners understand the contend. Student can choose either do 10 quizzes or 5 assignments or both. There will be 20 multiple choice questions for each quiz. Where as assignment will take longer, detailed explanation will be required in the assignments. For whom choose to do both, we will take the average grade from each part. About assignment submission, we will set up due dates according to their time zone. We will make the available time differently to make sure everyone has same amount of time to complete the assignments. Also, we encourage the learners form groups with others who are in the same time zone.
